Framework Approved!

I am very excited to announce that the Violence Prevention, Intervention, Suppression and Reentry Framework has been approved by the Salinas City Council.
This Framework is the result of the request of Congressman Sam Farr to collaborate with the Monterey County in order to prepare an action plan to address the continuous rise in gang violence in the County, particularly in Salinas.
The overall purpose of this Framework is to address and identify the actions and resources needed on the myriad of issues which are violence. It serves as a sort of blue print for a coordinated local effort and will become the basis from which a local action plan can be more fully developed.
I am extremely proud to see that Salinas is working collaboratively at both the national, state and local level to create a comprehensive, integrated approach to address gang violence.
I truly believe that the Framework is an important tool that may be replicated and tailored by other communities that are confronting this issue.
